Alone In The Wilderness

At 6000 feet elevation, Granite Lake mirrors a deep blue reflection of jagged, white granite. The explosion of thunderheads appears as though they may ignite at any moment and reduce you to dust. The breathtaking display from the three ospreys which constantly circle the lake, dipping, diving and soaring up once again with their prize is truly amazing! Occasionally they have a territorial display by attacking each other with a cause that was impossible to detect. It is a marvelous sight to behold.

Winter fun

Winter fun

Whether sun, snow, wind or rain, if you have an adventurer’s heart and the proper gear there’s no reason to stay home. This was a fun day of hiking to the top of the mountain in Castle Crags State Park in Northern California. It was a bit chilly hiking in the snow, but once we started hiking we warmed up quickly!
